Here's a picture of that postcard, with an aerial view of Tokyo. I mostly stayed within Shinjuku, which is the clump of tall buildings on the right hand part, near the top of the photo. The photo which I included with the first journal entry, was taken from the tallest (?) building in Shinjuku.
I took this photo in Shinjuku, during a matsuri -- a small festival hosted at a temple or shrine.
The view from Masami's apartment window.
The courtyard garden at a museum of sculpture. I'm sorry I don't know the name of the museum or the sculptor -- I'll post it as soon as I find it.
The museum also has a garden on the roof, with a big ole dandelion growing right next to a rose bush.
Kenji's welcome sign at the walkway near the road. From left to right, the first two characters read Nakamura, Kenji's family name. The next two are "Shizen" meaning nature, and the last two are "Noen" meaning farm.
A kiwi blossom, from the vines growing around Kenji's front walkway.
Some ornate carving work at the Yakuoji temple near Yachimata.
Here's that plant dokudami, which I helped pick last week (the plant on the left, with the white flower.) It seems to grow all over the place here, including along the stairs of a temple.
